Alexandre Gauthier presents the first “Dîner de la Création” at Palais de Tokyo

Artist Tomás Saraceno and chef Alexandre Gauthier are driven by the same desire to amaze and surprise. “On Air”, the exhibition by the Argentinian artist, is one of the major events of the cultural season in Paris: the Palais de Tokyo, a true place of experimentation, gave a carte blanche to Saraceno to invest its spaces with his monumental installations. Saraceno is fascinated by environmental systems (he presented a piece at COP21 in 2015), both biological and physical: he explores these themes in his art, notably through gigantic webs. For the inauguration of “On Air”, the Palais de Tokyo is launching “Les Dîners de la Création”: a meeting between an artist and a chef. For this first edition, the cuisine of French chef Alexandre Gauthier dialogues with Saraceno’s works. “Celebrating what Mother Earth had to offer was the motto of this dinner: Saraceno’s work is very aerial still very committed to real issues. The chef, for his part, is a master when it comes to using local products. He paid tribute to the natural resources that have nourished us for thousands of years through a vegetal-themed dinner. The union of these two personalities provided a true culinary experience, for the pleasures of the great names in art and culture who attended the event.
