American Vintage exhibits photographs by Luis Alberto Rodriguez
New partner of the Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival since this year, American Vintage hosted last night in its boutique on Temple Street a photographic exhibition by Luis Alberto Rodriguez. Last April, the young photographer won the American Vintage Award during the Hyères Fashion and Photography Festival. Originally a Dominican, this self-taught man, fascinated by the movements of the body, derives his talent from his observation of the world and enjoys superimposing colours and layers of clothing. He sometimes camouflages faces or reveals naked bodies to create surprise, a unique aesthetic found in his series “A Million Little Bells” that explores the world of the imagination. Attached to a feeling of freedom that emerges from his work, Luis Alberto Rodriguez has found in American Vintage a philosophy close to his own. In the margins of Paris Photo, the young guard of photography has nothing to blush about.
