Anna Cleveland is goddess of Egypt to Yazbukey

Adept of the most assumed eccentricity, Yazbukey is not one of those who take themselves too seriously. The presentation of her spring/summer 2018 collection was in fact a delirious procession in honour of the Egyptian gods (or rather, goddesses) with an Anna Cleveland -possessed by the fashion gods – performing a dance of seduction of her inimitable gestures. Dressed in a bodysuit and gold fringed sleeves, it is a statue of a goddess that comes to life under the eyes of Emmanuel Perrotin and Lorena Vergani, Felipe Oliveira Baptista and Stéphane Ashpool. The goddess Cleveland is quickly joined on stage by her army of disciples, young nymphs in bodies and bathing suits, fans with manicured hand motifs and amphora under the arm. Between veneration and hedonism, they prostrate themselves before settling down to tan on the sand. Warm and hot in the colourful Egypt of Yazbukey – a tribute to his mother, a renowned Egyptologist, and to women’s freedom.
