Art Brussels kicks off its 37th edition

Art Brussels contemporary art fair, overseen by Anne Vierstraete since 2013, just completed its 37th edition. Created in 1968, it is one of the most renowned fairs in Europe. This year, it ran from April 25 to 28 and brought together no less than 158 galleries from 32 different countries. Divided into sectors–PRIME, DISCOVERY, REDISCOVERY–it expanded to include the INVITED sector, highlighting a new generation of international galleries. These included La Maison de Rendez-Vous (Brussels), Lulu (Mexico City), Paid by the artist (Antwerp) and Misako & Rosen (Tokyo): nine galleries altogether were given carte blanche for their first time as participants. The fair has drew many great names in art, including Wim Delvoye, Daniel Templon, Suzanne Tarasieve, Bernard Blistène and Lucien Murat.
