Artcurial Cocktail x John Taylor x AD Interiors
Style lesson! From September 6 to November 23 (hurry!), the Decorative Arts will host the AD Interiors 2014 exhibition in the nave, 16 living rooms designed by 16 star decorators around a work selected from the museum’s reserves. An opportunity to rediscover these treasures of furniture history, such as the sofa in Marie-Antoinette’s theatre chosen by the Caroline Sarkozy / Laurent Bourgois duo, César’s office borrowed by Chahan Minassian, or Michel Boyer’s Monumental chandelier, dating from 1972 and commissioned by Tristan Auer.
It is also an opportunity to stroll through astonishing sets recreated from scratch, from Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance’s dream cabinet to Vincent Darré’s boxed salon, Gilles & Boissier’s duo office or François-Joseph Graf’s Chinese pavilion for Fendi. A journey through the mysteries of haute-décoration made in France, where the most subtle details burst from all sides in the name of know-how and refinement.
So it would be a shame not to enjoy the wonders of such a theatre. As a result, at nightfall, the cocktails follow one another without resembling each other. Last night, it was Artcurial’s turn to welcome friends, family and designers. What could be more normal for a historical partner of this event who, during several years, elected residence under the gold of his auction house?
