Artcurial presents Urban Anthology and Design Provenances with Technikart

Artcurial is back with Technikart magazine. This weekend, it is in the premises of the famous auction house that took place the opening of the two exhibitions whose pieces will be put up for auction on 28 February next.

A first for its Urban Art department, Artcurial proposes a sale entirely devoted to a private collection. “Urban Anthology, from a private collector” is a collection of twenty-three works giving an overview of the most emblematic urban artists of their generation. Like Bansky’s “Picasso Quote” (2009), one and the same watchword governs the entire collection: audacity. Just like Kaws'”Companion” or Shepard Fairey’s “Your Eyes Here”, the work has invaded the spaces of the 7, roundabout on the Champs-Élysées, alongside pieces of furniture by great names in design presented in “Provenances”, The exhibition reveals the rich history of his works, from their creation to their commission, passing through their acquisition by their successive owners. A total of 75 lots, including Charlotte Perriand’s designs for Les Arcs, Jean Prouvé’s famous Standard chairs, and pieces of furniture presented by Pierre Guariche at the 1951 Salon des Arts Ménagers, among others.

The occasion for the most advanced collectors to add their name to the pedigree of a rare and rich object of its history. For that, go to Artcurial this February 28th.
