Azzedine Alaïa opens his gallery for the auction “We Dream Under The Same Sky”
Say Who was present at the opening of the “We Dream Under The Same Sky” exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo on 16 September, which aims to raise public awareness about the situation and rights of refugees. After a week of exhibition, the catalogue of works by renowned artists such as Adel Abdemessed, Neil Beloufa, Latifa Echakhch, Ugo Rondinone, Cindy Sherman or Wolfgang Tillmans was the subject of an exceptional auction at the Azzedine Alaïa Gallery. In the presence of the creator, the auction took place under the hammer of François de Ricqlès, president of Christie’s, while Chef Mohammad El Khaldy had concocted, in collaboration with the Refugee Food Festival, the bites that guests such as Agnès B., Laurent Gaudé or rapper Abd al Malik could enjoy during the cocktail in the courtyard of the gallery. The latter is a member of the Honorary Committee alongside Catherine Deneuve, Azzedine Alaïa, Maja Hoffmann (LUMA Foundation), Jean de Loisy and François Pinault in particular. An auction evening that raised 2 million euros for five associations – Migreurop, Anafé, La Cimade, Centre Primo Levi and Thot.
