Bal Jaune celebrates 20th anniversary during FIAC

There is no need to explain what Bal Jaune is anymore. Everybody who is anybody knows it is the most anticipated party going on during the FIAC Week. This year, the event organized jointly by Fondation d’entreprise Ricard and Beaux Arts magazine celebrated its 20th anniversary. For the occasion, Colette Barbier and Fabrice Bousteau returned to their roots by investing in the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild (after a previous edition at Palais Brongniart). The dresscode? “Yellow”, quite simply. While a list of hand-picked personalities and art professionals attended the dinner a few hours before, everyone gathered at nightfall in the sumptuous salons of the 8th arrondissement’s architectural wonder to put an end to FIAC’s 45th edition. At the entrance, you were greeted by French artist Fabrice Hyber’s yellow bears (called “Ted’Hyber”, pun intended), while a huge fake cake made by Vincent Olinet sits a rain of golden garlands. The guest-list was probably the most extensive of this week’s FIAC that evening, including Matthieu Chédid, Sophie Calle, Serena Carone, Nicolas Bourriaud, Jérôme Sans, Jean de Loisy, Frédéric Jousset, Caroline Mesquita, Laurent Dumas… During the evening, Argentinian artist Liv Schulman received the Twentieth Fondation d’entreprise Ricard Prize from Neïl Beloufa, who gave a speech alongside the Minister of Culture Franck Riester. Here’s a look back at the much-awaited party.
