The Business of Fashion unveils the 2019 BoF 500 in Paris

The BoF 500, published each year by The Business of Fashion, is one of the most awaited and respected rankings within the fashion community. It is international in scope and accurately identifies the people who shape a constantly evolving industry. For its 2019 edition, the BoF 500 highlights the need for diversity in fashion especially, as embodied by rapper Chika, model Alton Mason, actresses Indya Moore and Zendaya, and LVMH Prize finalist Kenneth Ize. The 2019 BoF 500 marks the seventh edition of the initiative. From now on, The Business of Fashion will include 100 new personalities each year, without removing any previous nominee from the list, thus creating a real community of professionals both in the spotlight and behind the scenes. While designer Dapper Dan, model Adut Akech (along with Pierpaolo Piccioli) and Chika are featured on the cover of the BoF’s print issue, some other names stand out such as designers Daniel Lee and Daniel Roseberry, respectively appointed creative directors of Bottega Veneta and Schiaparelli (Roseberry presented the first Schiaparelli ready-to-wear collection in Paris this season), the young Emily Adams Bode, Sterling Ruby, the French journalist Sophie Fontanel or Virginie Viard, who succeeded Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel. To celebrate the announcement of this new list, The Business of Fashion organized a grand cocktail party at Paris’ Hôtel de Ville. It was an opportunity to properly celebrate the people who shape tomorrow’s fashion industry.
