CHOICES celebrates the fifth edition of Paris Gallery Weekend

For five years now, Paris Gallery Weekend has been one of the most influential events for collectors and contemporary art aficionados of the French capital. Marion Papillon, gallery owner and founder of the CHOICES association, created the three-day event in 2014. Today, she is accompanied by a Board composed of gallery owners Anne-Sarah Bénichou, Philippe Jousse, Nathalie Vallois and Séverine Waelchli. Last weekend, they all celebrated the launch of this fifth edition with a dinner that took place in the Hôtel de Ville’s Grand Salons. For this new year, Paris Gallery Weekend doubled the number of participating galleries (forty-four in total) compared to 2017 and offered, from 25 to 27 May, a very diverse program bringing together emblematic artists such as David Hockney, Agnès Varda or Anselm Kiefer, and young artists from the post-1980 generation. At the Hôtel de Ville, many art professionals responded to Marion Papillon’s invitation: notably François Quintin, Deputy Director of Lafayette Anticipations (sponsor of the event), gallery owners Eva Hober and Suzanne Tarasieve, exhibition curators Gaël Charbau and Jérôme Sans. All took their seats at Alexandre Poisson and Matéo Garcia’s flowered table, who created a universe where design meets gastronomy very much in the style of their own restaurant, Beladonte.
