The Fall/Winter 2019-20 season is off to a strong start in New York: both for well-known American designers and emerging international brands. The latter is especially true for IISE and LIE, two Korean labels that unveiled their respective universes this weekend. Chungchung Lee, a Central Saint Martins graduate and the founder of LIE, showed tailored prêt-à-porter, while brothers Kevin and Terrence Kim (the duo behind IISE) reinterpreted Korean heritage through contemporary streetwear, with Instagram-famous Luka Sabbat opening the show! Their collections this weekend were part of Concept Korea, an initiative that celebrates young local designers on an international level, through support from the Korean government. The initiative was also present at Pitti Uomo in January with the Beyond Closet show
