David Magnin and Géraldine Postel revive two summer days in Megève with Gaston Karquel’s pictures

From April 7 to May 12, the collector duo David Magnin & Géraldine Postel (also director of Outcasts Incorporated) will present the photographs of French photographer Gaston Karquel. With “Megève à Paris”, they reveal twenty-five silver prints made in Megève during the summer of 1948. Diane Pernet, Nathalie Dufour, Hugo Matha and many others met in the small space located at 11 rue Sainte Anastase in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, to rediscover this series of photographs illustrating the return to recklessness and post-war joie de vivre in Megève, a high place of the Resistance. A beautiful message, which nearly seventy years later still resonates in people’s minds and makes it possible to renew ties with the committed talent of its author, contemporary with other great names such as Henri Cartier-Bresson or Robert Capa. To discover without further delay.
