Degrenne celebrates 70th anniversary

This is an icon of French tables: this year Degrenne celebrates its 70th anniversary. A new milestone coming at a strategic time for the brand, which opened a new chapter of its history last year, notably through a collaboration with designer Philippe Starck. Now 70 years old, the house revisits its heritage (Guy Degrenne was the first to design stainless steel cutlery). This week, Degrenne organized an open house during which journalists and friends could discover the new faces of mythical pieces such the Normandy collection (the first designed by Guy Degrenne in 1948) or the Salam Héritage and Salam Normandy teapot. Throughout the day, Degrenne offered its guests seven exceptional moments (from breakfast to cocktails to dinner) with the participation of great chefs such as Jean-François Bury or Guillaume Gomez, chef of the Elysée’s kitchen. The highlight of the evening was the arrival of a big birthday cake designed by Philippe Conticini. We take a look back at an evening that has transcended “art de la table” into a way of life.
