Diesel in Calvi – Night 5

Electronic music imposed itself last night on the rock, with Jackson and his computer Band, Trentemoller and Xavier de Rosnay.

Jackson’s computers directly announce the color: the night will be electro. As soon as he enters, the tall, slender blond man makes the Théâtre de Verdure vibrate with experimental sounds enhanced with melodies of his own. He worked hard to create a cyber-sceno that fits perfectly to the subject. A kind of metal totem imitating a turtle shell, or similar. In the Diesel saloon, the VIPs made the trip and, last night obliges, the bottles of champagne parade.

Problem in the order of passage or assumed will to calm the crowds, Trentemoller and his musicians go on stage second and soothe the Théâtre de Verdure. Ethereal choruses, electro nerd, the headliner of the evening found his audience, visibly receptive to the Danish DJ’s nebulous flights.

Another star of the evening: Xavier de Rosnay, who closes the 2013 edition of Calvi On The Rocks by officiating under his sisters. The first part of the show is Ed Banger, during which the solo dj beats up Justice. It’s like – five years earlier – a Bloody Beetroots oozing concert at the Social Club. Apotheosis with Stress, Xavier did not lose his faculty to make teenager jump. A D.A.N.C.E and some disco sounds later, the Theatre lights out on Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now. But why Xavier, why?

“Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive and the world I’ll turn it inside out – yeah
And floating around in ecstasy
So don’t stop me now don’t stop me
“Cause I’m having a good time having a good time””

Everything went too fast, but Brodinski and his clique (Pone, So-Me, Breakbot) play hip-hop at the Annexe, as they know how to do so well. Although unavoidable, the condensation is right of the most coated, who join bon-an mal-an Chez Tao to listen to Cassius and Damian Lazarus. Calvi night V is over, the day rises, the spirits fall asleep, smiling. B.B.
