Galerie Perrotin presents Laurent Grasso, Leslie Hewitt and MADSAKI exhibitions

September is here, and so are Paris’ big cultural events. One of them is undeniably the latest exhibitions at Galerie Perrotin, three solo shows presenting the works of Laurent Grasso, Leslie Hewitt and MADSAKI. The Japansese artist, who was discovered in 2015 on Instagram by the great Takashi Murakami, had never been exhibited in France to this day. He presents a series of spray paintings diverting the old masters’ paintings, a style between humor and admiration that made him famous, and that has drawn the attention of designer Virgil Abloh (who, as we know, is close to Murakami himself). Further on, Laurent Grasso continues to amaze with his exploration of the elusive, while the young Leslie Hewitt presents a new series of photographs and color grounds for her first exhibition at Galerie Perrotin. Open to the public, the event was followed by a private reception orchestrated by chef Pierre Sang where major personalities like Julio Le Parc, Xavier Veilhan and Charles Carmignac all gathered to start this second semester on the right foot.
