Sitting front row at the Gauchère Spring/Summer 2019 show

To present her GAUCHÈRE Spring/Summer 2019 collection, designer Marie-Christine Statz chose the bright setting of a Hausmannian apartment on rue de Rivoli, just opposite the Louvre. Inside the salons adorned with authentic moldings, the rows of 70s chairs by Joe Colombo fitted surprisingly in the decor with their iconic green color. While the designer welcomed her guests to the rhythm of three fashion shows, each one an hour apart, we found sitting the front row the label’s close friends from all over the world, such as Ana Clara Benevides, Chloe Hill or Feya Sinyu Siu. Marie-Christine Statz was also able to count on the presence of renowned editors such as Robin Givhan (The Washington Post) or Justine Bellavita (Vogue International). Backstage, Italian journalist Jo Squillo interviewed the designer who confided about her collection, which is another example of her perfect mastery of lines and cuts. Her love for checks and the masculine wardrobe (her signature) is here well represented. For this collection, Statz played on the contrasts of proportions and materials, using artisanal fabrics and innovative techniques. All this constitutes her brand identity, placing her at the forefront of contemporary fashion and as a staple of Paris Fashion Week.
