Heroes’ auction at the kamel mennour gallery
3 million euros is the astronomical sum that the kamel Mennour gallery and Christie’s France collected for the Imagine Institute during a major auction that brought together the cream of the international contemporary scene.
A unique place for research, care and teaching on genetic diseases from children to adults, the Imagine Institute develops new treatments for its patients, in particular thanks to DNA sequencing for diagnosis.
Already in 2014, Kamel Mennour and François Morrelet had imagined a monumental installation for the institute’s garden. This year, a whole contingent of international artists have joined the cause by donating one or more works, including Anish Kapoor, Lee Ufan, Claude Lévêque, Martial Raysse or Camille Henrot, as well as personalities who have agreed to put on sale unique experiences..: Azzedine Alaïa, Éric Cantona, Peter Lindbergh, Benjamin Millepied, François Pinault, Teddy Riner, and Gad Elmaleh.
