Il Bisonte and its founder Wanny di Filippo celebrate in Florence

Il Bisonte’s charismatic founder, Wanny di Filippo, knows how to create a warm welcome. After Pitti Uomo last June, the Italian leather goods company made its mark on the Florentine scene, inviting people to the label’s headquarters at 11 Via del Parione for a customization workshop using the methods employed by the brand’s master craftsmen. The brand’s historic boutique—there are now also stores in Paris, New York and Japan—was opened fifty years ago in the former stables of the Palais Corsini, immersing visitors in the history of the house, with authenticity and an appetite for travel. Guests received a guided tour of the museum, located adjacent to the shop, which houses a unique collection of objects (bearing the effigy of the famous bison, the brand’s symbol, which its founder collects). Il Bisonte is tied up with the life story of Wanny di Filippo, who is known for his creativity, his passion for art and his visionary entrepreneurial skills. This week in Florence, Wanny Di Filippo drew out the presence of his artist friends: Marco Baroni, David Bacci, Silvia Orsi, and Niccolo Cesari, ambassador of Italian sprezzatura.
