Linda Tegg brings nature to Jil Sander’s Milan HQ

At the Fuori Salone, the Jil Sander company hosted an extraordinary cocktail party  in Milan. During Milan Design Week, Linda Tegg and artistic directors Lucie and Luke Meier exhibited “Adjacent Field,” a monumental plant installation in the brand’s headquarters in Milan, for the first time. Mosses and plants collected in Milan’s suburbs interacted with the new Jil Sander + collection: comfortable clothes for a lifestyle outside the city center. The installation was complemented with a lighting design by Nic Burnham of NDYLight. Australian artist Linda Tegg, who represented the Australian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale of Architecture last year, focused on the life force of plants that survive in the harshest conditions. The installation was conceived as a renewal. While some of the vegetation will be replanted in their natural environments, some will remain (beyond the duration of the exhibition) as a symbol of ecological awareness. At the opening cocktail, many artists as well as fashion and design personalities were on hand: designers Aldo Cibic and Philippe Malouin, architect India Mahdavi, artistic director Azamit, and CEO Axel Keller.
