John Berrick’s dragons at Studio57 Gallery

Installed since last July in a case designed by architect Jacques Moussafir and furnished by Isabelle Stanislas, the Studio57 signs its positioning, according to the idea of its founder and designer Jean-Baptiste Pauchard, as a revealer of artistic talents of today and tomorrow by the opening of John Berrick, artist working on a multiplicity of supports held last September 15.

Grouped under the theme The Dragon Manifesto, the works of the artist, Australian by birth and French by heart, retrace a creative journey under the sign of a mystical animal that he first met in the form of an imperial dragon with five claws, wrapped around a celadon bowl found in an antique market in Shanghai.

In the presence of His Excellency the Australian Ambassador Mr Stephen Brady AO CVO, whose speech retraced the artistic achievements of John Berrick, the guests came to discover the mysterious creatures that occupy his imagination and to whom he pays tribute throughout his career.

Studio57 Gallery would like to thank His Excellency the Australian Ambassador Mr Stephen Brady AO CVO who honoured this premiere with his presence and a complimentary speech towards the artist, as well as his sponsors Asahi, Octave and Beluga.
