Joseph Duclos brings back craftsmanship from the Enlightenment in Paris

The history of Joseph Duclos dates back to the Age of Enlightenment. To be precise, to the year 1754, when Louis XV allowed the factory created by the brothers Joseph and Barhélémy Duclos to officially become the Royal Leather Factory of Lectoure. Today, the eponymous leather goods brand, which was officially inaugurated in September, is reviving a unique traditional craftsmanship specific to the spirit of the Enlightenment. To bring back to life this ‘enlightened luxury’, the house can count on the experience of its artistic director, Ramesh Nair, who is well known for his expertise in leather goods acquired in historic houses such as Hermès or Moynat. To celebrate this new birth, Joseph Duclos invited their Parisian friends to discover his timelessly elegant universe in their home at 54 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. It was the perfect opportunity to soak up the superb creations of the Diane, Saint-Clair, Fontélie and Lectoure lines – a tribute to the city where it all began…
