Isamu Noguchi by Kris Van Assche at Art Basel Miami
Dior Homme unveiled during Art Basel Miami its new collection “Black Carpet” whose images, photographed by none other than portrait master Patrick Demarchelier, have already toured the Web. For the occasion, the house organized a very private dinner at the Webster in collaboration with the Downtown Laffanour Gallery. In the presence of Kris Van Assche and Mr Laffanour of course, the event was attended by select guests such as Asap Rocky – always faithful to Dior Homme – the fashionable DJ Brendan Fallis and, more surprising, Ricky Martin ! Above the long table are the light sculptures by artist Isamu Noguchi, six of which have been customised by Kris Van Assche. The designer, a true jack-of-all-trades, applied his photographs of flowers to these evanescent luminaires in the manner of a collage. The lamps are to be discovered in the Dior Homme boutique of the Design District of Miami throughout the duration of Art Basel Miami.
