“Le Jardin de Joy”: Le Fouquet’s Paris and the elegance of picnic
While summer is slowly but surely settling in the French capital, there is a habit Parisians will soon bring up to date again: the picnic. This week, the Hotel Le Fouquet’s Paris inaugurated its elegant interpretation of summer picnic in partnership with the Maison Veuve Clicquot. “Le Jardin de Joy” (named after the hotel’s restaurant) is a “green setting protected from the bustle of Paris”, yet located in the heart of the city and a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées. Dominique Desseigne, President of the Barrière Group, had invited his friends to feel like at home and share a gastronomic picnic. Personalities of all generations did not miss the event: in the front line, the iconic Claudia Cardinale was joined by the young actors Deborah François and Vassili Schneider, Niels’ younger brother. While everyone shared a Maison Geronimi ice cream or one of the four Veuve Clicquot cocktails by Stéphane Ginouvès, everyone let themselves be carried away by the tranquility of an early summer evening – until nightfall.
