Mame Kurogouchi presents her collection in Gabrielle Chanel’s private apartment

Mame Kurogouchi—the ready-to-wear house created in 2010 by Japanese designer Maiko Kurogouchi—is the second largest Japanese luxury brand (just after Sacai, a pillar of Paris Fashion Week). Maiko Kurogouchi worked with Issey Miyake before going solo, and today that name is spreading in the highly competitive Parisian and international ready-to-wear scene. Journalists and fashion insiders such as Sophie Fontanel, Caroline Issa and Angelo Flaccavento attended the Autumn-Winter 2019 presentation, organized in three consecutive waves. The designer presented the new silhouettes in Gabrielle Chanel’s private apartment, drawing inspiration from Japanese heritage while brilliantly showcasing highly technical work in textiles. It was a great mix of savoir faire and poetry.
