To attend a Marni show is to truly experience a vision. On this fourth day of Milan Fashion Week, Francesco Risso’s guests (starting with Anna Wintour, Hamish Bowles and the breakout star of the “Euphoria” series Hunter Schafer), entered a timeless space, wrapped in white curtains before settling down on XXL cushions on the floor. A little like Alice in Wonderland passing through the door of a new world, Francesco Risso drew his inspiration from Lewis Carroll’s famous tale to deliver a collection that speaks to our time. The designs on the runway were constructed from pieces of fabric gathered in elegant patchworks. Undoubtedly a stylistic reflection on today’s textile overproduction, the collection remains poetic and elegant. The models’ faces were covered in paint and golden sequins, complimented by creations by the great hairstylist Julien D’Ys.
