Maroussia Rebecq X Veepee: Back to the future

Second hand is no longer a byword for cheap. For some time now, vintage, scavenged and more recently “upcycled” pieces have been making their way into our closets and onto the catwalks. Maroussia Rebecq, ecofeminist and fashion activist according to her own Insta-bio, dreams of transforming yesterday’s fashion into the future of the industry. The dream came true, through her collaboration with major e-commerce company Veepee. Joining forces, they launched an upcycling platform. Upcycle Solution (or US) is taking up residence in 700 square meters, a stone’s throw from the Veepee headquarters in Saint-Denis. Their experimental laboratory proposes creative alternatives to fast-fashion. To celebrate the first drop of the brand, the lab opened for an exclusive premiere. Last Thursday, a happy few were invited to discover (and wear!) the Y2K-inspired pieces from the collection. Neptunes 2000, Chris Biandonga and Diane Sagnier brought back to life 2000’s fashion, accompanied by a performance from fashion designer Clélia Cazals. At the turntables, Broodoo Ramses and Carla Genus kept the neo-fashion crowd dancing.
