In Nicolas Ouchenir’s atelier, Camille Fournet gets a new look

Do you know the house Camille Fournet? French leather goods manufacturer since 1945, the brand has undergone an important evolution for more than half a century. Some key dates: acquisition by the Dechery family in 1994, launch of its own line of bags in 2006, and in October 2017 a new image, a new logo, a new boutique concept, and above all, new leather goods collections. A great moment for the house that begins a change of image turned towards design as evidenced by the design of its shop signed by architect Boris Cindric. With the new artistic director Claire Aubadie-Ladrix, Camille Fournet offers herself two ambassadors of choice: Carmen Chaplin, granddaughter of the mythical Charlie Chaplin, and Nicolas Ouchenir, calligrapher star who no longer counts the number of her successful collaborations with fashion houses. An inspired-inspiring duo in the spotlight this week as the house invited its friends to Nicolas Ouchenir’s workshop to properly celebrate the arrival of the holidays. All this, however, in a very fashionable Christmas atmosphere: the traditional Christmas tree had been swapped to make way for a series of Camille Fournet designer bags scattered here and there. On the walls, photos and creative souvenirs accentuated the family spirit of this “private party” which ended with the presentation of gifts: for each, a Camille Fournet card holder signed by Nicolas Ouchenir…
