Elmgreen & Dragset celebrate Numéro Art #3 with Galerie Perrotin

Already very influential though still young, Numéro Art celebrated the release of its third issue the same night as the opening of FIAC’s 45th edition. After welcoming Camille Henrot, Urs Ficher and Joan Jonas on their previous covers, the magazine now features the Scandinavian duo Elmgreen & Dragset, represented by Galerie Perrotin. The two artists, photographed by Miles Aldridge on the cover of the magazine directed by Thibaut Wychowanok (a biannual edition of Babeth Djian’s iconic Numéro), are currently on display at Galerie Perrotin for their first solo show in Paris. While their name immediately recalls their installations “Prada Marfa” or “Van Gogh’s Ear” on Fifth Avenue in New York, Parisians will also be able to get acquainted with the duo’s work on Place Vendôme as part of the FIAC’s Hors les Murs programme (where the artists present “To Whom it May Concern”, an invasion of a hundred starfish on the Parisian pavé, as if the sea had taken over the city). While this new Numéro Art has been on the newsstands since October 12, friends of the magazine and of Emmanuel Perrotin (notably the artists represented by the gallery: Sophie Calle, Johan Creten, Julio Le Parc…) had all gathered at Le Consulat for a festive evening, with a concert by Hyphen Hyphen, and a party until the end of the night.
