Olivier Theyskens goes back to basics for Fall/Winter 2020-21

At the beginning of February, Azzaro appointed Olivier Theyskens as creative director of their ready-to-wear and couture collections. Having already worked with historic houses such as Nina Ricci and Rochas, or more contemporary ones like Theory, the Belgian designer will present his first collection during Haute Couture week next June. Since his debut after La Cambre, Theyskens has remained a favorite of all fashion connoisseurs, so his first collection for Azzaro will definitely shake up the next couture week. The designer got another fresh start this week with a minimalist collection for his own brand’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection. His silhouettes (predominantly black) carry his unique romantic sensibility and show a welcome restraint in these times when maximalism sometimes takes over purity of design. Sitting front row were singer Allie X, Nieves Alvarez, Larsen Thompson and photographer Ellen Von Unwerth.
