Hella Jongerius kicks off production at Lafayette Anticipations

Dutch designer Hella Jongerius, founder of the Jongeriuslab, is known for her important research on textile creation. From June 7 to September 8, Lafayette Anticipations in Paris presents “Entrelacs, une recherche tissée,” an exhibition that transforms the Marais art space into a functional factory—including the monumental “Space Loom,” whose structure is linked up with the building’s mobile platforms. The factory will be constantly evolving during the exhibition, producing new pieces throughout that will be presented in the spaces. Hella Jongerius transparently shows the entire process of textile creation, and raises awareness about new potential fashion and textile processes can counter ephemeral consumer objects.
