Opening of Dove Allouche’s’Mea Culpa d’un sceptique’ exhibition

The Ricard corporate foundation is inviting the artist Dove Allouche, who is exhibiting his recent productions referring to cave art on a proposal by Kate Macfarlane, until May 7.

The title of the exhibition,”Mea Culpa d’un sceptique”, is taken from a 1903 note written by the paleontologist Emile Cartailhac when he came out of the Altamira cave in Spain, whose decorated walls he had just admired. In addition to this note, he acknowledges having denied the ability of our ancestors to produce such works. Having recognized his error, Cartailhac reoriented his studies from this major discovery. Taking this anecdote as a starting point, Allouche undertook new forms of image production in an attempt to put in place a process that would allow images to generate themselves.
