Opening of the exhibition’Novus ordo seclorum’, by Recycle Group

Formed in 2008 by Andrey Blokhin and Georgy Kuznetsov, Recycle Group begins our reflection on the future of contemporary culture using recycled materials from the industrial era – and not just anything, quite the contrary…
The title of their second solo exhibition at the Suzanne Tarasiève Gallery,”Novus ordo seclorum” is a motto that appeared on the Great Seal of the United States and has been printed on the back of $1 bills since 1935. Used with the geometric symbols of Freemasonry and designating a”new world order,” this motto celebrated the beginning of a new American era and produced many conspiracy theories.

With malice, the duo now diverts the codes and explores this mystical subject by transposing its secret meanings to the era of virtual reality. Materialized in the form of vestiges, their works become archaeological and freeze in time. Scripts, obelisks, pyramids, bas-reliefs: the Suzanne Tarasieve gallery is transformed until April 3 into a post-apocalyptic museum and questions the visitor about the future of our species. To see and to see again.
