Patti Smith & John Cale’s concert for the Cartier Foundation

On June 15, 1990, the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art celebrated the opening of the exhibition dedicated to Andy Warhol in the presence of numerous artists, including the four original members of the Velvet Underground. Lou Reed, John Cale, Maureen Tucker and Sterling Morrison take to the stage as’Songs for Drella’.

24 years later, John Cale is recalled by the institution on the occasion of its 30th anniversary (and a little of the FIAC), but this time in duet with another rock and roll icon from whom he produced several albums: the immense Patti Smith. A review of an unexpected live show to say the least.
