While the Paris Photo event closed its doors on Sunday November 12th, the Les Bains club organised the official closing party this weekend – almost as much awaited as the fair itself. And for good reason, it was none other than the great Patti Smith who went on stage that night. The artist, icon of punk, was one of the guests of honour of this edition of Paris Photo (as Karl Lagerfeld). The Gagosian Gallery invited him to exhibit a series of his own photographs and those of his close friends, the great names Avedon, Lindbergh and Mapplethorpe who introduced him to photography in the 1970s. Paris Photo was also marked by the carte blanche given to Martin Schoeller by Pernod Ricard, who has been supporting contemporary photography since 2010 and has become a partner of Paris Photo. For the evening at the Baths, Havana Club took over the bar and basement where the well-known faces of ORLAN, Thomas Erber and Elina Kechicheva met, while Ariel Wizman extended the night with a DJ set mixed with a photo projection of the great hours of the Baths.
