Perrier and Takashi Murakami unveil their collaboration

Perrier is no stranger to contemporary art. With a history going back 150 years, the famous French carbonated water has collaborated with some of the most influential artists of their time, including Andy Warhol and. Salvador Dalí (and the list goes on). These great names have all participated in creating Perrier’s unique point of view over the years. Today, the legendary Takashi Murakami is the latests artist tapped by the brand as part of their artistic collaborations. The collab puts the spotlight on the Japanese artist’s famous characters, Kaikai and Kiki, as well as the laughing flowers that are characteristic of his work. This week in Paris, the Perrotin gallery hosted the collaboration’s launch in their Hôtel du Grand Veneur space with an immersive scenography that read 100% Perrier x Murakami. On the menu that night: a Perrier green floor covered with Murakami’s flowers, supersize tondos featuring the advertising visuals, as well as a behind-the-scenes film projected on a big screen. Everything was done to put you in a festive mood – even the chance to play the wheel of fortune and take home a sweatshirt signed by the artist. The guests, among which Perrotin artists Johan Creten, Jean-Michel Othoniel or Laurent Grasso, all got to experience a double dose of joie de vivre: that transpiring from Murakami’s work, and that of finally gathering up with friends to celebrate…
