Vernissage Sophie Calle “Dérobés” (Derobed)
Sophie Calle combines two series “Tableauaux dérobés” and “Que voyez-vous?” in a solo exhibition entitled “Dérobés”, from the book “Fantômes” published by Actes Sud. Whether stolen or simply unhooked for restoration, the paintings have left a hole – sometimes even their frame – in their habitat. The artist was interested in the memories that these vanished works inspired in those who came into contact with them on a daily basis – curators, maintenance staff, curators, etc. – and in their feelings in the face of this vision of nothingness.
