A front row seat at Yohji Yamamoto Fall/Winter 2022-23

Yohji Yamamoto presented his Fall/Winter 2022-23 collection at the Hôtel de Ville on Friday, March 4. The penultimate show of the day brought together the regulars of the House founded in 1972. Often experienced as a moment of contemplation, the show was set to contemplative music, away from the hustle and bustle of the catwalks. The collection deploys deconstructed volumes as on the long black dresses under denim jackets with flared sleeves. The white silhouettes contrast with the dominance of black, which is declined in the succession of materials. The volumes finally round off on down jackets with XL sleeves, before the highlight of the show: two silhouettes all wrapped in wool, showing the creator’s mastery of fabric manipulation.
