Idôle: Zendaya embodies the new fragrance by Lancôme

In a Paris during haute couture week, the sky cast a powdery pink glow at dusk—the very colors of Lancôme, which was serendipitously celebrating the launch of its new perfume, “Idôle.” The label unveiled a newcomer to its emblematic line of fragrances (like its signature “La Vie est Belle,” paired with Julia Roberts’ smile) and officially announced Zendaya—the 22-year-old actress and new icon of the younger generation—as its muse. Inside the historic Palais d’Iéna, guests (including Larsen Thompson and Gavin Casalegno, it-girls Victoria Magrath, Flora Coquerel, and Brittany Xavier, model Maëva Giani Marshall and actress Karidja Touré) ventured into an immersive scenography that diffused the scent of rose petals and Turkish Isparta. Zendaya arrived in her evening dress, as hordes of telephones pointed her way. She stood before the crowd and made short speech that concluded with “Let’s smell good!” Louise Chen, Mimi Xu and Piu Piu Piu presided over the dance floor—and at the top of an imposing set of stairs, the image of a giant bottle presided over the whole place. With this, Lancôme wants to say #WeAreTheFuture.
