Blackbird cabin X Beka Pkhakadze: Unidentified Habitable Object

At the crossroads of origami and a Star Wars spaceship, the Blackbird Cabin stands out from the forest where it landed on a misty morning. Created in 2012 by the architect Beka Pkhakadze of the award-winning Georgian studio Stipfold, the original idea of the cabin was creating a dialogue between its exterior and interior architecture. Inside, geometry and a certain sense of austerity still are compatible with the warm feeling of being home. Outside, it was essential for the architect to give certain elements a double function. For instance, the roof’s overhang creates the perfect parking space on one side, and a patio on the other. Full of contrasts and undeniably spectacular, this new kind of cabin is one of the most unique places to stay at, and can only be described as a UHO: Unidentified Habitable Object.
