Buehler Turbo Craft X Sean Connery : Thunderball

Saving the world is just another day in the life of James Bond. While his best ally has always been his Walther PPK revolver, it might not be enough to neutralize two nuclear missiles launched by Largo, the vilain. To get to him, 007 decides to seduce his partner with a swim. When they come back to the surface, a new kind of boat awaits them: the Buehler Turbo Craft. Designed by a former aeronautical engineer, this boat was the first in history to benefit from a propulsion mode taken from a jet aircraft: the turbine. The boat was not propulsed by a typical propeller, but with pressurized water jets. This was a revolution at the time, and the technology would soon be adopted on many vehicles, notably jet skis. Losing its momentum as from the 1980s, Buehler was given a new breath of life in 2015 when bought back by Genovese professionals who aimed at producing a new line of boats. The Thunderclap is the modern version of the boat that allowed Sean Connery to become a sex symbol. While jet propulsion is part of the package, Buehler is also working on electric solutions – see Vita, which we talked about some time ago. With its neo-classic esthetic and a rich history, the Thunderclap might be what wealthy client were always looking for. 12-meter long, 3,5-meter wide, it’s definitely the ‘day boat’ you were always dreaming about…
