Chetzeron Hotel X Sami Lamaa : Switzerland is where it’s at

It commands respect to build a hotel (or any building for that matter) in the mountains. Made to face the worst conditions, neither time nor the weather has any hold on them. This is what Sami Lamaa had in mind when he discovered Crans Montana, this abandoned cable car station from the 1960s, perched at an altitude of 2,000 meters. This Brutalist construction with an open wide view on the mountain’s peaks was first opened as an altitude restaurant. And then, inevitably, when the last skiers of the day were leaving the ski trails, they were able to enjoy the most beautiful, Instagramable sunsets. So the idea to create a hotel came naturally, as well as keeping the building’s original feel with the added value of becoming environmentally responsible. An extension was built to offer the perfect setting for guests to enjoy their stay as if they were actually sleeping in a could. The cuisine is local and so are the wines. The spa is invigorating and you’ll never want to leave the magnificent living room. Skiers all agree: being the first on the trail in the morning is the most incredible pleasure on Earth – and this is an opportunity only the Chetzeron Hotel can give you
