Jaguar Type E Lightweight GT X Eagle : carfection

Produced in 12 units only, the Jaguar Type E Lightweight was a lighter and optimized version of the original model. It was based on a cabriolet with added hard top, which gave it that unique look – quite different from the coupé. Lower, wider, more powerful, this one-of-a-kind car had quickly become every auction-goer’s favorite while remaining relatively rare in these sales. British car preparer Eagle (35 years of expertise) knows everything there is to know about Jaguars, in particular the Type E. Seeing how frustrated their clients were to have never been given to chance to acquire the Lightweight model, Eagle decided to make their own. Taking the Series 1 roadster as a starting point, Eagle added a hard top to the car. Then it was all about finding the lightest materials to work with. Everything made of  aluminum, magnesium, or carbon was used, manufactured or 3D-printed to reduce the total weight and offer exceptional weight / power ratio : 380 hp for little bit more than a ton.

Going from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, this car is astonishingly very easy to drive while keeping the essential vintage experience. The car is fully customisable (power steering and air conditioning are extra), and the dashboard is kept its original esthetic with a few technological improvements – the perfectly-fitting wheel, for example. In its army blue version, it’s difficile not to fall in love.
