James Turrell x Carbon : Inside a Cocoon

The Posada Ayana is not only a beautiful hotel by the sea in southern Uruguay. It is also an artist’s residence where James Turrell has been invited to install a new opus of his transcontinental project ‘Skyspaces’. This spectacular installation required the transportation of 42 tons of Italian marble, which gives the whole building the appearance of an observatory. To support this artistic approach, the hotel, managed by the Kofler family, asked French chef Thomas Coupeau (Carbon restaurant, Paris) to design a menu both ingenious and locally-sourced. A remarkable way to enjoy the art of cocooning.
