Marc Philipp Gemballa x the Marsien : Earth landing

A legendary car preparer for Porsche, Marc Philipp Gemballa teamed up with RUF to design this neo-retro version of the legendary 959 – which you may know at a star of the Paris-Dakar in the 1980s. You may also think of the duo formed by French actor Claude Brasseur and the pilot Jacky Ickx. Based on the latest Porsche 992 Turbo S, Marc Philipp ‘the magician’ came up with a true ‘UMO’ (or Unidentified Moving Object) cleverly dubbed the ‘Marsien’. Its main function? To go fast, very fast, too fast for the Earth! This unearthly feeling is accentuated by a film shot in the desert, in which the car proved its unrivaled agility. Beyond the performance, this new Supercar marks the rising enthusiasm for the ‘Safari’ versions of the 911, which were already customized by artists like Daniel Arsham and Aimé Leon Dore. More than a performative object, this Porsche is also the celebration of an icon of 80s car culture.
