Whether in a tent or a camper, you can try to make it glamorous, but camping is not always synonymous with elegance. Yet it is tempting. Just one look at a Ralph Lauren advertising campaign and you’ll want to turn into Davy Crocket. So far, however, it’s been a challenge: uncertain set-up (still missing a sardine), a fire that won’t start (wet wood), ineffective floor mats (sharp pebbles), a leaky icebox… the list goes on and on. Rivian, an electric luxury SUV that’s 100% American (and not imported yet) has the answer. In an ingenious pick up, the small American manufacturer has integrated a raised tent and a cool and functional kitchenette/work surface. As for the rest, the car is the alternative to the Tesla: lightning acceleration (0 to 100 in 3.5 seconds), a range of 600km, beautifully crafted leather and up-to-date infotainment. Still confidential, the brand will definitely be making a name for itself soon.
