Souheila Yacoub

Born in Geneva in 1992 to a Tunisian father and a Flemish mother, Souheila Yacoub dedicated her early years to her passion for rhythmic gymnastics. She joined the Swiss National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team as a teenager, competing in the 2009 and 2010 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. Later pursuing a different path, Souheila Yacoub entered the Miss Suisse Romande pageant in 2012 and emerged victorious. This unexpected turn of events led her to enroll in local dance and acting classes, ultimately securing a scholarship to study at the Cours Florent in Paris, and later on, at the CNSAD (the National Academy of Dramatic Arts). Her breakthrough came in 2018 when she landed her first major role in Gaspar Noé’s psychological horror film, Climax. This was followed by a string of acclaimed performances in various projects, including the miniseries Savages (2019), the war drama series No Man’s Land (2020), and the black-and-white film The Salt of Tears (2020), which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2024, Yacoub’s career reached new heights when she was cast in the highly anticipated science fiction epic, Dune: Part Two, directed by Denis Villeneuve. Alongside established stars like Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, Yacoub portrayed the role of Shishakli, a Fremen warrior. This opportunity, as well as other recent projects, have earned her critical acclaim and recognition, including a nomination for the César Revelations.
