Edgar Jayet is a French designer whose work is deeply rooted in history and traditional craftsmanship. After graduating from the Ecole Camondo in 2021, Jayet quickly made a name for himself, winning the Grand Prix Van Cleef & Arpels at the Design Parade Toulon festival. This accolade prompted him to establish his own multidisciplinary interior architecture and design studio, which he operates between Paris and Venice. Driven by a profound passion for art history, Jayet’s work often incorporates references to the past, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. Whether designing furniture, lighting, or scenographic installations, he seeks to imbue his creations with a sense of « Unheimlichkeit » – the Freudian concept of « uncanny strangeness. » Jayet’s impressive portfolio includes commissioned pieces for prestigious institutions such as the Fondation Carmignac and the Château de Chantilly, as well as self-produced collections that have been acquired by the Mobilier National.
