Stella McCartney goes wild with Fall/Winter 2020-21 show

It’s a jungle out there. Stella McCartney added her signature elegantly ecological touch to Paris Fashion Week with a runway filled with stars, style and sustainability. The collection was a zoo of ecological materials combined with an actual zoo as life-sized furry mascots animals including cows, rabbits, foxes and alligators walked the runway to reinforce the designer’s aversion to using animal products for creation. Models wearing furry animal suits carried vegan leather bags and waved to the chic crowd gathered to watch on reusable seating cubes inside of the plastic-free, carbon-neutral space at the Opéra Garnier. The designer used humor and fun to relay what has been her very serious “don’t kill animals to make clothes” message from the start. Models and mascots shared the runway with flowy dresses with patterns, earthy tones and a touch of sparkle, trenchcoats and knitwear. Not present : leather, fur, skin, feathers or animal glues. The front row exuded eco-friendly elegance with Shailene Woodley, Constance Jablonski, Ashley Benson and Isabelle Huppert. Green has never been so glam.
