Charge London x Ford Mustang : Bullitt and plug it !

You might have seen this scene from Bullitt, an iconic movie from 1968, a million times. Steve McQueen drives his Ford Mustang peacefully through the hilly streets of San Francisco to the piercing sounds of Lalo Schifrin’s tracks. Suddenly, McQueen is caught in the chase. The engines scream, the tires squeal, the eyes fuse. Even if this sequence is a far cry from today’s Hollywood standards in terms of dynamism and action, it will always embody the myth of the Ford Mustang. Now, from the very same model, best known under the nickname “Fastback”, British engineering start-up Charge Cars has created a brand new Electric Mustang. The engineers replaced the original combustion V8 engine with a new powerful electric motor, redesigned its interiors, creating a new contemporary look, and pimped it up with modern cutting-edge gadgets. Zero emissions, range of 300km and speeding up from 0 to 100km/H in less than 4 seconds, Charge’s Electric Mustang is already available for reservation at a starting price of £350,000. Maybe, it’s not a motor car for the great multitude that Henry Ford dreamed of, but we can’t help to admit that the result is pretty convincing. A legend reborn.
