Independent stylist Nikita Vlassenko has definitely carved out his own path in the fashion industry. Born in Ukraine and raised in Frankfurt, Germany, Vlassenko arrived in Paris at the age of 18, determined to pursue his passion for fashion. Having passed both entrance examinations, he judiciously chose to study at ESSEC rather than the Beaux-Arts, as he considered that artistic flair isn’t something that can be taught at school, unlike learning how to run a business. After his studies at the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM), he worked for companies such as BETC, VTMNTS and Antidote magazine, gaining both experience and contacts in the industry. In 2022, Vlassenko’s career took a significant turn when he started working with Bilal Hassani to reshape the singer’s fashion identity. Their on-going and long-lasting collaboration is made of bold and avant-garde choices, but Vlassenko styled other high-profile clients, such as Léna Situations for the Met Gala. His style brings together art, design and fashion, as he likes blurring the lines and advocating for novelty. As Vlassenko continues to shake up the fashion world, he remains a rising force to be reckoned with in the industry.
